Had a three day weekend. It was good. Cherity and I went to the Chipewa River State trail in Durand and biked toward Eau Claire for 14 miles and then turned around for a round trip total of 28. We pulled both boys with us. They did great, incredibly patient. The trail is nice but not as nice as the Root River trail stretch we went on the week before.

We did this bike ride before we headed up for Luck and our nephew Riley's birthday. Cherity and the boys got Riley "The Dangerous Book for Boys". Cherity also got Owen the same book. It has a lot of ideas on things boys will love to do and will want to learn like how to make a trip wire, how to skin a rabbit, the last 100 years of MVP's in Major League Baseball, and the list goes on and on.

Along with the 28 miles we did on Friday I also biked 20 miles on Saturday in luck @ 18.8 mph and 17.7 @ 18.7 mph. Yeah, I got a new computer for my bike so I can check all the stats too! The Luck backroads are near perfect for road biking. Very little traffic. Almost all roads are paved and a ton of lakes to see.

The craziest thing for us and maybe I should have mentioned this first. Owen is staying up in Luck until Wednesday to stay with Grandpa Rick and Grandma Kris. Owen was VERY excited about this. It's very, very, quiet here in Winona with just one boy. We gave Seb the option to stay too. Seb liked the idea of staying but didn't like the idea of Mom and Dad leaving so he came home with us.

The weather was beautiful on Sunday and it was very hard to go back to work. Monday was one of those days where you hate your job and you find yourself trying to brainstorm ideas for something less worthless to do with your life.

So glad you guys are enjoying your biking excursions. Sounds like great fun, exercise, and nothing is greater than the good ole outdoors in the summertime.

So glad Owen has some time alone with Grandpa and Grandma. When we left Bethany with Mom and Dad when we went to Belgium a couple of summers ago, it was extremely hard for me and her too, but I think it really connected them with her and her with them. Tightened their relationship. All in all that was good. It's still hard letting our older girls go places for a week or two at a time. But the time is always good for both sides of the spectrum. Parents get more time together to get reaquainted and kids get a deeper appreciation for home and a taste of independence, which may help them when they actually leave home. I think it might help Charity a little bit. She gets homesick, but with her New Way Singers trips and youth trips, I think that's helped her to see, she will survive in college, I think. We'll just email ALOT. :)

Love you guys,

Lee
