Weekend of Heat
Yeah, so it was a little hot out this weekend. My thermometer actually got up to 106 degrees which I'm sure was inaccurate because I went past a kiosk that said 96 degrees. It definitely felt like 106 , even riding in to the wind.
I took a pit stop/water break at the Perrot State Park in Trempealeau, WI and snapped a picture too. I'm pretty proud of myself. Proud that I'm still alive that is. 35 miles when it's like 100 degrees aint fun. Well... the first 15 miles on a flat with the wind was fun. The funny thing about biking is when thing go good early they usually equally go bad on the way back when you're doing an out and back course.

The morning canoe trip with Owen actually happened a couple of weeks ago but I hadn't gotten around to posting it yet. We got skunked this day but Owen didn't mind and neither did I.
And this is my lovely wifes neck, and me taking advantage of it.

The pictures of you don't do you justice. You are MUCH more handsome!
Nice picture of Cherity's very pretty neck, though. :-)
John and I were wondering how you managed to snap a pic at 23 MPH! Your somebodies dad! don't be taking risks like that for us!
Hope all is well. I've been getting some miles on my bike here. It's nice. The Kettle moraine actually makes for good biking.
It's nice to see how much you've enjoyed this new sport of yours. say hi to Cherity and the boys from us. They look like our boys. All buff and tan from crazy boy summertimes. It's cute.
very carefully. It was a flat stretch. The hard part was pulling out the camera from my back jersey pocket and then taking it out of the ziploc bag (to keep it dry). It was a pretty flat and open area so it wasn't too bad...
If you guys ever want to come to Winona to visit/bike/whatever let us know. I've heard of the Kettle Moraine trails. I think my brother Adam has driven over to the area just to ride the trails.
Yeah, ditto to you Aaron. It would be fun to get together over here too. I know I couldn't keep up with you but I've got some good 20 milers around here now. I don't typically ever go 23 MPH though. I'm a scaredy cat. (however that would be appropriately spelled )
