Fox in the neighborhood

We've been noticing this fox in the neighborhood. Yesterday morning though it was sitting in someones front yard and wasn't moving. We realized it's kit or cub or whatever you call it was behind the retaining wall and the fox was staying guard. The kit's head is popped up behind the retaining wall just to the left of the foxes head. (big black blob). Too bad my phone doesn't have a zoom. The fox family was actually really close to us. (We were driving past in our minivan). Kinda fun.

This morning I'm really sore. We put up a wrought-iron fence to contain the dogs from killing all the grass in our backyard. We have to do something with the new gate though so it will hold them in. The fence was easy to put up (just a bunch of hammering of spikes in to the ground but we decided to buy a firepit and we had a bunch of 18" square pavers so we decided to put that down in a brown grassless patch of the back yard. Less of the backyard to re-seed. We had been keeping the dogs to one half of our yard but decided we were giving them too much space so for the sake of our grass we reduced their area to about a 25 x 25' square. We'll still let them roam the yard when they are being attended... just don't want to let them use the entire back yard as their potty.
