It was the loom that traverses the boot hinge...

That's the tidbit of information I got off of a British Google group which helped me figure out what was wrong with our Ford Focus. Strange that they have that make of a car in England...? Anyway the loom I guessed is the grouping of wires and the boot hinge I guessed is the point where the wires cross over from the main part of the car to the hatch. That group of wires/loom crossed over to the hatch door through a flexible, rubber, conduit. I pulled the rubber sheath down to find severed and bare wires.

And why was this a problem? Well, apparently if there's a short to the rear window windshield wiper, this will blow the fuse to the break lights... and if the break lights don't work there is a solenoid that trips (or doesn't trip) and thus locks the car in park. In other words if our rear windshield wipers don't work we can't drive our car. Well of course!!! That makes total sense! Anyway, I re-wired the car the best I could and Cherity took it to Target and I'm hoping I don't have to bike over there and pick her up. So that's my labor day.

-------------------------

Cherity has been doing OK so far. Nauseous but not puking and tired. She's been really bummed lately because she's been doing a lot of biking and her energy level is down so she gets tired doing just a third of what she was doing before. Actually I think mentioned it was more nausea than tiredness that has been cutting her workouts short.

Well, I thought I was going to get more of a blog in but Seb's pestering me to be in the same room with him so goodbye.

Poor Cherity. When she is visibly doing nothing she is actually doing a tremendous amount of work - growing that littlest tike. I feel for her. It's worth it in the end!!
