We just got back from Owen's end-of-the-year Preschool picnic. It rained pretty hard toward the end but it was no big deal because we had a huge brand new shelter area at the Lacanne park/lake to keep us dry. The boys chose not to stay dry and were constantly pulling disappearing acts.
When I got home from work Molly looked like she aged 10 years but I came to find out that Seb was worried about Molly getting sun burnt and had rubbed suntan lotion all over her. It's the kind of lotion that's water proof too, so even though she was out in the pouring rain the white residue hasn't gone anywhere. Molly doesn't mind and I chuckle every time I look at her as she pants expectantly at my feet
The only thing crappy about it being rainy out is that I just purchased a canoe on Monday night and it's been hard to take it out for a ride. I took it out for about a half hour with Cherity and the boys last night in between rain storms just before it got dark. We almost took out the neighbors back car bumper with the canoe when we got home. I was in the front seat of our parked car looking for a ratchet strap or something and I hear Cherity yell my name in a fevered pitch and also the noise of our canoe sliding down the front of our hood. Cherity had opened up the trunk and the door pushed the boat forward. Fortunately no harm was done to anything except for my nerves, which we're already shot years ago.
So any way YEAH! I've got a canoe! Just one more reason for any guy I know or ever made the acquaintance of to come and visit me. We can get to all those hard-to-get-to fishing spots that no one knows about. It's got cup holders and fishing rod holders too and it's just light enough for me to be able to lift it over my head by myself, albeit rather awkwardly, but I can get it. It's only 15'5" long and a might wobbly but nothing too bad. I wouldn't want to take it down the main channel or anything though.
Anyway, a new venue to take pictures from... which reminds me... when I was fishing on Saturday I watched a heron pluck a walleye out of the overflowing damn water twice. Good sized walleyes! AND THEN the heron would fly over to another part of the damn and let the fish flop around on the cement for about 10 seconds. All just before it picked up the walleye and swallowed it whole! That fish was about the same size as the Heron's head! Pretty cool. I figured it set the fish down for a while so it would flop the energy out of itself before he swallowed it. Gives less of an upset stomach if it's not flopping around in you stomach I suppose.

Congrats on the boat purchase! :) You are going to have so much fun! Something kind of funny...once Gypsy got into some weeds and had an allergic reaction on her tummy, I thought to put some Aloe Vera on her, (this, when I was apparently an adult living in P-Ville!), and Gypsy ran off and found a stream to jump into, an attempt to get the Aloe Vera off I am guessing...anyways, your lotion story reminded me of my dog story. Life is always better with a dog!
I agree : )
