Ok, so my knee's been hurting. It's self diagnosed tendanitis of the knee (patella tendon). But the pain is somewhat mild and tolerable on runs. I've been checking threads on running forums about this and it does appear that some people just accept it as a part of life and nothing you do necessarily is a sure fire way to get rid of it. Rest certaintly isn't doing it. So I'm going to start and continue running until my body physically tells me STOP IT! I also need to purchase some new running shoes.
So anyway, I went to the Y and ran for 30 minutes on threadmill @ a 2 degree slope. Started @ 7:03/mile pace and progressed as I went along. The pain sort of numbed towards the last third of the run. I would say the pain peaked earlier and then lessened within the first third of the run.
4.6 miles 30 minutes.
Oh yeah, other than the knee, I felt pretty good. In the last 5 minutes when I was running sub 6 min mile pace I kept it together although I was counting down the seconds until I was done. Was breathing heavy but definitely not panic breath. Muscles felt fine.
