12.25 miles. @ sub 7:00 pace. (6:55 ish). The run itself felt pretty ok. I drove over to the great river trail in Wisconsin and ran. Flat as a pancake but when the terrain wasn't icy it was muddy. I wasn't expecting that much ice. Considering how bad the terrain was I'd like to have seen what my time would have been on dry solid ground. Good confidence boost, except for now I'm feeling now (leg's are really dead). My previous longest run was 9 miles so of course after I hit 9 my legs started feeling really tight. At that point I figured what the heck and picked it up and probably averaged between 6:35-6:45 pace for the rest of the way. I actually started to have that weezing breath even whic caught me off guard because I was stiff but didn't feel like I was pushing it that hard. I think I need to back down the training to about 40-45 for a couple weeks because I've been adding about 25% to my training and .. oh whatever!! I'll run how I feel. If my body tells me I can only do 30 miles next week... that's what I'll do. If after my recovery run tommorow I feel like a champ again I'll keep er at 45-50 miles. By the way,
total for the week = 49.1 miles.
New high again. If I break that next week then my body can handle a heck of a lot more than the running magazines recommend for increases in mileage. I'm definitely starting to find my current limits though I think. I of coarse am typing this with lactic acid aching legs right now. I'm gonna go eat something. bye.
