Lumberpick

Just got back from the Wisconsin on a two week vacation. Seeing the family was good. I don't miss the winters there though. For some reason the light seems gloomier. It could be in my head. Perhaps it's just gloomier because it's harder to get myself outside when it's so cold.


We received a call from our old neighbor in Winona to let us know that our furnace had gone out. We had already decided to go to Winona to check on our house but this made it a for sure. Apparently the house was sitting at a steady 39 degrees. I called the HVAC folks in Winona and they fixed the burnt out part right away. The next day we headed up for Winona and before we even got out of Platteville we received a call from our neighbor letting us know a pipe had burst and there was a bunch of water in our basement. FUN! So, we spent some time cleaning up the basement. Fortunately there wasn't any major damage. But, while we were there I packed up our stuff in our car and forgot to pack away my work laptop. also FUN! So, I've asked a friend back in Winona to overnight it to me today so I get it tomorrow. In the meantime I'll have to find a loaner at work.

The trip back to Denver was longer than we expected. We got as far as Omaha and had to stop and get a hotel room because it was so icy. That was kind of a bummer because I was really hoping to have all day Sunday to veg. Oh well. When I get some pictures downloaded I'll try and get them posted.
