I came home today and was told our neighbor, who is a runner, took Molly (our dog) with her to go for a run around the bluffs. My neighbor's boyfriend came over while I was eating and said Molly was having heat stroke and Marisa had to carry Molly to some stranger's house. I was a little perplexed but went and picked them up. Literally. I had to pick Molly up and put her in the car. She didn't have the strength to get to the car. She was like a wet noodle. She could barely lift her head to look at me. Kinda scary. She had a massive amount of diarrhea and bouts of puking but has since settled down and is recouping her energy in the basement right now and has been doing a little waking albeit rather feebly. So that was the drama for today. It's weird and kinda scary to see your dog which is typically rather hyper act this way. I mean usually when Molly wags her tail her whole back end wags too.
We got back from the cities last night after visiting my little bro and his wife, Ronda, in beautiful Belle Plaine. This is our third trip to visit and to go to the scarecrow festival which is put on by some sort of company/tourist-trapy kinda place called Emma Crumbees (sp?) There are hay rides, pony rides, strawberry picking, pumpkin sales, apple picking, a camel ride, a scarecrow contest, tractor tricycles, slides, goats, sheep, and all sorts of stuff... It's a good time for the boys.
After that we went to St. Paul and visited Mike and Leah. We had Molly with us and they had there pup Kona which amazingly was more wired than Molly. Molly was up to the challenge though and really seemed to enjoy the experience including getting all muddy while went out for lunch at a local joint called the Day by Day. Owen made conversation with the waitress. I think the waitress was flattered because she thought Owen was hitting on her.
We checked out the Science Museum, and adjoining IMAX about volcano's. We were a little tired during that part but we managed to keep it together long enough.
