No deep thoughts. No ranting. No questions about why something is the way it is. Just an update.

Fished three nights in a row. Twice with the boys. Once with Kenny. Took the canoe out with Kenny and sat in a Lake with more lily pads than than open water. Great for Bass fishing. The nice thing about Canoes is that you can go right over the green stuff. So any way the rubber worms seem to have been the trick but next time I'll use a bigger hook.
Last night I was going to take a picture of a homemade houseboat. It looked like something out of a Mark Twain book. It looked as if it was made of cull lumber with bare, grayed, wood showing all held together by aluminum screen. It was strewn with do-dadds and do-hickies dangling from the walls. A dog perched up front in a way that reminded me of one of those bare breasted statues that sit on the front of a pirate ship. The photo didn't happen because the camera started beeping some fatal lens error and the lens wouldn't' retract and the camera wouldn't do anything. Right after that the Julia Swain Steamboat strolled by with it's Calliope tooting old popular tunes. So, we just fished and then went home. I took the camera apart carefully, blew on it, and put it back together. Not sure what was wrong but it's working now.
Thanks to Uncle Cliff for all the lures and tackle box!!!! I'm starting to realize how nice it is to have such a large tackle box. It seems I was alway carrying 3 or 4 things down to the water in separate containers or in the pockets of my cargo shorts. The tackle box holds it all and my hands are a little more free. A definite bonus when trying to corral 2 boys.
Last night I got prepped and ready so I could wake up early this morning to go for a bike ride. I then sat in bed and couldn't fall asleep so I set the alarm back to a reasonable hour. Disappointing, but I would have been a cranky cuss tonight for the family.
Tonight I watch the boys and Josiah. Josiah's mom, Jen, is going out with Cherity. Jen and family are moving to the Madison/Janesville area.
The weekend was relaxing. Spent a lot of time at the college par-course. Did a couple of rides here and here (pay no attention to the flickr photo's, they come with the sight... still trying to figure how to control that). Anyway, nothing too long.

Ranting? Hmmmm
That houseboat sounded really interesting! That would have been a great picture! (I'm tempted to ask you to draw a picture of it.)
I saw that Calliope boat once. Ever since then I've wished we could take a Mississippi boat ride down the river. It made it look like fun! Of course, I know that's what it is supposed to do. Neat marketing.
I LOVE your posts. I live vicariously through you and your experiences sometimes. Today was an especially challenging day - I feel like I'm being yanked in all directions... and I relaxed just reading your stories of fishing, the man-made boat and the camera glitch.
Not to mention seeing the boys at the par course. You were doing what I INTENDED to do today - reconnect with nature. Need to do better at making it a PRIORITY, I think physically, mentally and spiritually I NEED that.
Thanks for the mental break! It's also nice to feel like I'm staying "in touch".
Give the family kisses - I (we) miss you!!!
