Lumberpick

Last Monday Owen was counting down the days until Friday. That was the day we were planning on heading up to Luck, WI. Owen finds it very hard to contain himself when it comes to visiting Grandpa Rick. He always has a project he wants to do with Grandpa. Owen even had Cherity call him up once not to long ago so Owen could tell him that they should burn a tree down. For some reason this seemed like a great idea to Owen.

Owen forgot about the burning tree idea (I think he got that idea from the burning bush story from the Bible... I'm not for sure on that though.. I'll have to check with Cherity) and had moved on to making drawings/blueprints of a trailer which grandpa could build for his bike. Grandpa obliged and I wish I had pictures but we forgot our camera. Also Grandpa Rick cut down a huge tree that was dying in their massive yard. We all stood as a large audience in awe as we watched this large 30" diameter/50' tall tree make large popping and crackling noises as it came crashing down. After the adults and kids were done applauding and cheering on "Grandpa the lumberjack" we dragged the brush and stacked it in to a bunch of piles as Nate and G-pa cut off the branches.

The rest of the weekend was all a practice in devouring copious amounts of food and then going for walks out in the woods in an attempt to burn as much of it off as possible.
