Lumberpick

My third class is almost over. Wednesday was the first and full day and I've got probably a couple of hours this morning yet of stuff to go over. I was a little concerned, because there wasn't hardly any anxiety preceding the days of the class. Concerned because being that relaxed, I might end up forgetting something major (i.e. material and so on). Anyway, talking for a day straight on different information makes teaching a 1 hour course seem incredibly easy. I mean I'm doing about 9 hours of material straight through with breaks and lunch. I'd love to have a 1 hour class and then be able to pick up the next day. I will say that the hardest part of teaching is whether the class is with me or not. It's not simple getting people to speak up. I've just started picking on people a little bit due to my comfort level and that may help. The one encouraging thing in this class was someone telling me over supper that they "learned a ton today". I often feel like what we're talking about is all review and the folks are just there because there manager told them to go and they wanted to get away from the office... so comments like that are good to hear.

I hope it warms up eventually. The groundhog did whatever he was supposed to do so now I'm keeping an eye out for spring. Not looking good at the moment. I had to walk to work yesterday because of the road conditions and it doesn't look much better today. Biking is way better cause I'm only out in the cold for a little over 5 minutes. It's 25 minutes if I walk.

I've really enjoyed reading a lot of folks blogs lately. I've been reading Jon's blog. Mainly I'm reading comments there lately. I've really had trouble focusing lately to say anything meaningful as far as being part of the comments. I've actually been more of user lately and not very interactive. I think I'm just so lacking focus with thinking about too many things at the same time. Sometimes I think, yeah, I should comment on that and I'll do that later and sometimes I just don't know what to say. Oh well I'll have more focus after class today.
