Took the boys swimming last night at the Y. Cherity has a remembership (as Owen calls it) and on Friday nights it's family night. The boys love the pool and think they can swim, ignoring the fact that they both rely heavily on floatation devices.
I wasted today away for the most part. My big plan was to go to the library, but when I approached the entrance to the library I was greeted with a sign that read "The library is closed for the weekend in memory of Martin Luther King Day"... That' right, in memory of Martin Luther King Jr. you can take the Monday off along with the weekend too. It's like they say in the movie Orange County when eating nachos with cheese: "As long as the chips are stuck together it only count as one!" (maybe you have to see the movie....I don't know). I suppose the librarians do need the extra time off to get their last minute MLK Jr. day shopping done...How many days do you get to take off for a holiday anyway! Why don't we just close the Library for the week with a sign that says something like "... due to lack of interest..." Grrr! I guess it bothers me because the hours for the library already suck as it is. They aren't open on Sundays and they close at 6:00 on M, W, and Fridays. Sorry about the boring rant.
I headed over to the WSU library and they were also closed (I think the school is still on break). Instead of reading anything enlightening I stayed home with the boys some and watched a lot of sports. All-in-all a boring day.
I like watching sports on TV but I get this feeling. I don't know how to explain it other than "icky". It might have something to do with being in high school and college and having a ton of homework to do and instead of doing it I would watch football or basketball. Now I feel like I should be playing with the boys more, talking with my wife, or be outside running or biking or something... anything.... Feel like a lump on a log by the end of the day.
I've got Sunday to redeem myself with something soul fulfilling or meaningfull or less icky-feeling.
