Father and Son = Fire

Cherity is going to a wedding for a cousin of hers today. She hitched a ride with her brother Nate and his fiance Jackie. Sebby went with her and Owen and I have been spending the day together.

We ran a few errands and then went to a local restaurant and got a burger. We then went over across the river and took like a 5 mile walk. It was an out-and-back walk on a Wildlife reserve. It was a little tiring as the last two miles I walked with Owen on My shoulders and with Molly on her leash. I think Owen had a good time. We left the trail and walked about a mile in the marshland area which was dried out for the most part. I got us a little lost but we found our way again pretty quickly. We threw a stick out on a small frozen creek bed a bunch of times and laughed our butts off as we watched Molly ungracefully chase after it and bring it back to us. We were out there for probably 3 hours just walking around. I would have taken pictures but Cherity has the camera with her at ....

Well, I'm back. Owen just sprinted in here screaming DAD!!! DAD!!! FIRE!! FIRE! So I sprinted in the kitchen and there was a fire in the oven which I was pre-heating for the typical father-son meal (frozen pizza). The first thing that popped in to my brain was Cherity telling me yesterday to remind her to fish out the crust that fell on to the bottom of the oven. The crust is what was burning.

I pulled out the bottom rack that guards the elements and set it on the floor without thinking. Our old linoleum now has to parallel vertical lines burnt in to it. Oh well, it needs to be replaced eventually anyway. It appears to be like 30 years old.

Owen is using the new air pump I just purchased today for pumping up my bike tires as a tool to blow out all the smoke that is floating in our kitchen. Good thing I just bought that pump! Our house may have burned down without it. The oven is now preheating again and I have a fan in the window but now my eyes are burning.

I wasn't sure what to title this post. I had it title "Father and Son" and the "= Fire" just came to me some how.
