Yeah, I'm a lame materialistic fool

But at least it wasn't a Hummer. It was an entry level road bike and man can you fly on that thing. One of the IT guys from work picked it up and said he thought it weighed less than his Laptop. Spending the money gives me sort of a sick feeling in my stomach but... whatever I'll take some antacid or something. Ha!

The purchase was two-fold. I needed something to get to work and I've been using my Bro-in-law Chad's bike. (for those of you who don't know, my bike was stolen a couple months ago.) I didn't want to use it throughout the winter because I didn't feel right about rusting up someone elses chain or wiping out in the snow and so on.

Secondly, this is a possible opportunity to hook up with some local weekly road bike groups in the spring and I'm most comfortable in a social setting tailored around exercise (It's what I'm used to). My level of socializing in Winona is near Zero if you don't count the blog comments I receive/post and playing Connect Four with Owen.
