Graduation Parties, Cleaning, Netflix, and Wenches.

Cherity's brother Nate is graduating this weekend and I have to work on Saturday. I'm not going because of that and I would technically be happy to have the house to myself but a few folks are coming over for a little birthday thingy on Sunday. Thus, I will probably have to be doing some cleaning to get ready for a few guests.

I signed us up for a free trial of Netflix this morning to see how it goes. I'm more interested in doing it during the Winters and I think you can cancel at any time if you want. I've got the "Superman" movie and "Nacho Libre" on it's way. I'm excited! I almost picked "Fog of War" which is about Robert Macnamara (spelling?) who was a decision maker during WWII and Vietnam (I believe). It was mentioned in the book "Searching For God Knows What" that I was reading (Notice how I keep bringing that book up? Yeah... I get pretty proud of myself when I read A book. Feel all smart 'n' stuff:-P). Fog of War is a documentary. I also noticed you can get the whole 5 disc documentary set for 'The Civil War" and that is considered only one movie rental! How cool is that?! There's also a whole Indy section. I wasn't too impressed with the selection on the surface. I haven't looked deeply though.

Our Christmas Luncheon for work was today. It was in this big old church and the Winona Senior High Choir came to sing. The acoustics were pretty cool with the high ceilings. The room we were in looked like it could have once been some sort of room in a dark medieval castle with a big long wooden table where men ate their meat like men, directly off the bone, tearing it to shreds like rabid dogs with their armour still sitting on their broad shoulders and a wench to their side. There was a HUGE marble/stone fireplace that was like 20 feet wide and went to the ceiling. The Choir stood and sang atop the balcony as we sat in our dress slacks and button up shirts and listened after eating catered meat that was cut in nice little boneless baby sized chunks along with a side of fruit salad. The room which probably looked cool at one time, had it's walls painted a boring light gray which took away a lot of the potential wine guzzling mystique.
