Sebby was backed over upon by a Honda Hybrid. The lady who's rear driver side tire hit him actually hit the brakes while the tire had all it's weight on him. She then realized what was going on when she saw Cherity as she was trying to push the car forward.
Sebby got his first helicopter ride to LaCrosse's Gunderson Lutheran's trauma center. They did a CT scan (?). He has about 6 fractured ribs. They said their were some concerns about his spleen and liver, swollen I think, and need to keep an eye on them. He will probably be in the hospital for about 3 days for monitoring as long as everything seems stable.
When I got to the scene, I almost thought his head was run over because of the hemoraghing (sp?) around his eyes and their were also a lot cappilaries that burst in his forehead.
He was very aware during the whole ordeal except when it first happened. Cherity picked Seb up and said it was like picking up a rag doll and fortunately their was someone near by from the military who was at the preschool for show and tell and told Cherity that she shouldn't pick him up due to whatever else could happen.
Sebby's been on morphine throughout the day but I've gotten him to perk up when I've mentioned "Gordon" (his missing Thomas the tank engine). Also, Sebby has always had this habbit of saying..."Daddy..Daddy..." and I would always answer "Yes, Sebby" and his reply would be "I lub you". So while I was in the room with Seb I would say "Sebby.. Sebby.." and he wouldn't respond but I would pause and then say "I lub you" and he would nod his head in recognition. That makes a daddy feel good.
Their changing out Nursing shifts which is what gave me the opportunity to sit hear and do this in the lounge. Better than reading magazines. That's for sure. Like therapy I guess. I did a pretty good job keeping it together except for when I had to call my mom and tell her. At the moment I had to say the words I just started bawling and could barely get it out.
Thanks for all who have already visited and those of you have been praying for us. Please continue to do that.
Thank You.

Good to hear he is doing OK. I just got a call from Mark and he didn't have that much information. I called him back and read your blog to him. He is calling the Ping's to update them. We will all be praying for Sebastian's recovery and strength for you and Cherity. If you guys need anything just give us a call.
Hey,
It was good to hear from you Aaron. Our heart is so with you right now. I so want to be there with you. I ache too for you and with you.
But we are glad he is acknowledging little things like you mentioned. Dear little guy. Maybe our little ones are more resilent than adults when stuff like this happens.
Let Cherity know of our love and prayers for you both. We love you guys so much. You are constantly on our minds now.
We'll continue our prayer vigil for Sebastian.
Love you more than ever,
Lee
I can't use words to desribe Sebastian's sparkling eyes. I got to read a couple of stories to him and he worked so hard to point at the book he wanted read and at the pictures when I was talking about them. When he spoke a yes, I about burst with joy.
Owen is being so strong too. Chad and I have him at his home in Winona and he keeps making comments about it all. So much for him to process. Please pray for peace for all of the Pick family as they work through their memory of it.
Aaron, know that its ok to not "keep it together". That's why your friends and family are here. Please ask for anything you need or want. Keep that wife of yours close in your arms. God will bring your family through this. We love you all so much.
We are relieved to hear some more news... our hearts ache for what you are going through. The emotional struggle can be more challenging than the physical one.
Aaron, Cherity and Owen ((hugs))... and Sebby - ((healing, delicate kisses))
love,
h.
We will be praying for Sebastian and your whole family is in our thoughts. Todd, Tracy, and Joey Paider
Sebastian will be the first one in our family to be able to say he bench pressed a car. That's quite a boy you got there, Aaron and Cherity.
We are going to have some stuff to talk about at Thanksgiving, aren't we?!
Jon
We love you guys. We both cried when we heard. Thanks for the note on the blog. I'm so glad to hear that he's doing well. Please hug Owen and Sebastian from the Zuehlke's (and hug eachother too)
Again, we are sending all our love your way.
John, Molly, Kohler, and Tatum
