Sebastian's one week apointment.

We took Seb to Gunderson today for his checkup which was scheduled one week after his release. They doc just felt his tummy and asked how he was doing. The only things visible on him are the adhesive marks from all the stuff that was glued to him and a little red broken capillaries in one of his eye. As for Sebastian himself he gets tired sometimes and occasionally complains about his tummy hurting. That's about it for physical. He's back to his spunky self otherwise. He runs around (more than I'd like him to). He yells a lot.

On the social side he covers his face and frowns whenever a stranger talk to him. I think this is mostly due to all the stranger he met after the accident who caused him more pain than he was already feeling i.e. the ambulance folks, the nurses, the doctors, and the cat scan folks.

Also, I noticed when I went to the YMCA to pick Cherity up after her workout, that when I took Seb out of his car seat and set him on the pavement he sorta looked worried and didn't budge. I could see this coming so I asked him if he wanted me to carry him which is exactly what he wanted.

Trusting the outside world might take a while. Knowing Seb, this phase will probably be shortlived.

In other news, we went to an American Matress today also. Our matress is older than I am I think and Cherity was like a kid in a candy store. We didn't get anything but now that Cherity has smelled, touched, and experienced, I 'm sure it won't be long.

Owen is saying he wants to go to bed now. ???? I think that means he wants my attention more than anything so I'm done for now.

awww... a little gun-shy

I can't imagine what's going on in that little head of his - but I'm sure the abrupt trip over the river (via chopper) and "out" of the woods.... altered his outlook on the outside world signficantly.

Good thing mom & dad can sense his fears and help him :)
