This morning I woke up to find a squeeking mouse in a glue trap that we set out. I had seen a mouse twice last week. I'm leaving the mouse there until Owen wakes up. He would be incredibly dissapointed if I disposed of it before he woke up. The mouse is about 3 feet from my shoes as I type squeeking intermittantly.
After I came across the mouse I took Molly out for a walk. As I was walking past an alley a slobbering, barking, junkyard dog came up upon Molly and I. I got a little dizzy twirling around as the dog "snooch" (as I later learned her name) circled us trying to get to Molly who was trying to get away from the dog. Eventually the dogs owner showed up in a jeep cherokee that had a horn that sounded like it came out of an old woodie station wagon. Had this sort of deep bass to it. Every bit of space behind the front bucket seats was filled with boxes, beer cases and all other manner of "stuff". The guy had longer straggly gray hair and a beard that matched and he looked sort of like a hungover Santa Claus and smelled like he hadn't showered in a month. He was actually a pleasant mannered guy but snooch wouldn't go near him knowing getting caught meant going back home, I guess. He had mentioned that maybe I could get a hold of snooch's collar and that she/he doesn't bite and he/she's actually a nice dog and blah blah blah. I eyed up snooch. She was all teeth and slobber... I don't think so. Maybe the idea of going back to a smelly home wasn't appealing? The owner tried to coralle snooch which he had no ability in doing. I ended up walking home after about 15 minutes worth of failed attempts with this barking dog harrassing Molly for about two blocks @ 6:45 am. My ears are ringing from all the barking and everyone who lives near the corner of Zumbro and 3rd St. in Winona is now awake.
Cherity is up early with Sebastian who kept waking up throughout the night from a cough he developed in the last day and a half. He's coughing now and just got done watching "Reading Rainbow" on PBS.
Well the mouse hasn't... oh wait I just heard her squeek again. Thank goodness Molly doesn't know she's down there.
