I just got back from the river banks, which is about two blocks from our house. I watched a few barges go past as I fished and the boys slapped sticks against the water. Despite the boys throwing rocks and whatever else they could find in to the water, I caught my first sauger. It was about 13" long and I had no idea what it was at first (mad that I didn't have the camera with me). Actually I thought it was either a junk fish or a catfish and then I saw the eyes and thought "holy crap!" Like I said, I had never caught one before. I had always wanted to catch a walleye. This was close enough. I caught it off of a tube worm that I was bouncing off a rocky bottom that dropped off a little. I learned that from Larry Paulus. Larry introduced me to the fun of fishing the morning of my wedding day along Lake Pepin. We went out and caught a few small-mouth that day. I've been hooked ever since.

On another note. I ran 1.8 miles in 11:36. Nice easy day. Felt good to loosen up a bit.
