I ran an easy progressive run yesterday morning and it felt ok and then Ryan Ping called to see if I wanted to run, which I'll never turn down an opportunity to run with someone. So much for the day off. He doesn't run very often right now but he does a lot of biking and cc skiing and he's definitely a natural runner. Not to many people can maintain 7:00 pace and hold a conversation @ the same time.
By the way Ryan! Thanks for the post! Cool!
This mornings run was like yesterday mornings run. 5 miles @ ave. of 7:05. Started out @ 8:00 pace and worked my way down to 5 something before the run was done. After I was done running I ran in to some old guy in the lobby and he said something like "You were running pretty fast on that treadmill". I just smiled and said "Yeah, it's a lot of fun. It's nice to know how fast your running". That was the extent of the conversation. He looked like a regular who probably comes every morning and does it as much for the social time as he does for the exercise. I figure the arbitrary short conversations with people I don't know are worth mentioning. I just went straight to the car from there. I typically come back on M, W, F to lift weights during lunch and I can't believe all of the men walking around buck naked with no specific purpose. They just walk. Don't know where there going. Don't know why. Airing out I guess?? There's actually a lobby in the men's loccer room and there was a guy sprawled out naked with his legs crossed reading a magazine in front of the tv a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if this is just natural for middle age men? I wonder if I'll eventually be that guy? Do they have a purpose for their semi-public nakedness or do they just not think about it. I have no problem with it. I'm used to the locker room lifestyle, having run cross country in college. Maybe I'm just taken aback because I'm not used to the guys who look like uncles and grandpas and middle agers doing it all the time. Hmm...
I'm taking a break from the boys right now and Cherity is actually @ the Ping's right now for some sort of jewelry party. Fun...?
